THE TIMES of OUR LIVES
In keeping with The Foundation’s mission to broaden understanding of Virginia’s 20th Century, we will produce a series of documentary programs featuring oral history interviews with Virginians who played a part in that history. Our goal is to complement the content and scope of the rich resources to date. This VPF series is called The Times of Our Lives.
The first of the series is a program that has been in the works since 1998. We are finalizing a documentary,
The Quiet Statesman: Albertis Sydney Harrison, Jr. 1907–1995. Harrison was the first Virginia governor to have been born in the 20th Century. He was also the first governor to hold office after the terrible wars of Virginia’s Massive Resistance to school desegregation.
